Last week we held our first ever Fen Party. What is a Fen Party I hear you ask? A fen party is a fake hen party, created by thehenplanner.com to entice all our lovely girlfriends to join us for a day of pampering, fun and laughs and enable us to take some photos to showcase our products and bring some of our ideas to life. Huhah!
A small business means very little budget for these things so we needed to cut corners… We held the party in a very obliging friend’s house in Dublin. It is a large period house so absolutely perfect for the various ideas we had. We nervously pressed send on the whatsapp group message asked our lovely ladies in Dublin if they would be interested. The response was overwhelming. All the girls were so enthusiastic and up for getting involved. We were SO appreciative.
The day was amazing. We had 3 fabulous make up artists to get the girls ready for their close ups. We stocked up on party food with The Natural Bakery in Rathmines who have bakeries around Dublin. This food was for the girls attending the “hen party” albeit they had to wait to tuck in until we caught the amazingness on the camera. All the food from The Natural Bakery is so good – both to eat and to look at. Their caramel macrons are AMAZING and their mini donuts are one of our favourites for fat friday.
This sign "A little party never killed nobody" is now available in our online store in cream, pink and light green. We also have the straws, cups, plates, cake toppers and flags available in our online store. You can see how much fun and colour these will add to your event!
Once the girls had their make up done, we kicked off the party with expresso martinis (we take our recipes from Social & Cocktail here) and had a cocktail in our new drinks dispenser (we were very excited about this addition to the party!) for the girls and to keep the party spirit alive. It was photoshoot time.
Our “activities” were a Stella & Dot party and perfume making. For those of you who haven’t come across Stella & Dot before, they have an amazing collection of jewellery and come to houses and parties with their trunk show for the ultimate personal shopping experience. If you’re interested in having this in the Dublin area, get in touch and we’ll give you Grace’s details. Perfume making is available via our sister business, thehencollection.com for €30 per person around Dublin. A great activity for a mixed hen party group.
I won’t dish any more details just yet on the themes but keep an eye out for more images which will be used around the website and to promote thehenplanner.com and showcase trends along with our new products.
